2015 Street Tree Census

Street tree data from the TreesCount 2015 Street Tree Census, conducted by volunteers and staff organized by NYC Parks & Recreation and partner organizations. Tree data collected includes tree species, diameter and perception of health.

Number of samples: 65,216

Field descriptions:

• tree_id: Unique identification number for each tree data point
• created_at: The date when tree data point was collected
• health: Indicates the collector’s perception of tree health
• spc_latin: Scientific name for species
• spc_common: Common name for species
• address: Nearest estimated address to tree
• postcode: Five-digit zip code in which tree is located
• zip_city: City as derived from zip code. This is often, but not always, the same as borough
• borough: Name of borough in which tree is located
• latitude: Latitude of data point, in decimal degrees
• longitude: Longitude of data point, in decimal degrees
